Dr Henry Yang He received his B.Sc. from Eastern China University in Process Control and his Ph.D. from University of Stuttgart in Biochemical Engineering. His Ph.D. thesis described mathematical modeling and optimization of mycelial fermentation (mycelial growth, morphological development, and antibiotics production). He carried out his post-doctoral studies at University of Toronto and Northwestern University, working in the area of modeling and optimization of biofiltration, hematopoietic cell culture, model-based prediction of CD34+ cell expansion, microarray data analysis, and gene expression profiling. In 2003, he joined the Bioinformatics Institute (BII) as a principal investigator.
His main research interests are in the area of genomic data analysis, experimental benchmarking of different statistical analysis methods, integrated analysis of biological heterogeneous data for novel gene discovery, statistical analysis and validation of activated pathways; development of bioinformatics integration software tools.
