To support and complement the Singapore International Graduate Award (SINGA), A*STAR is introducing a new award known as the Singapore International Pre-Graduate Award (SIPGA) for international students. SIPGA is designed to provide short-term research attachments of 2 to 6 months duration to top overseas students at A*STAR.
Purpose
Launched in October 2007, SINGA is a PhD partnership programme with NUS and NTU. Its aim is to increase the pool of top international PhD talent at A*STAR and to add diversity and vibrancy to our scientific talent base.
The SIPGA award complements SINGA, which provides short-term research attachments to international students who are keen to experience the scientific environment in A*STAR Research Institutes. Through SIPGA, we hope to enthuse and excite these young students to see Singapore as a world-class international research hub and to encourage them to consider pursuing their PhD at A*STAR through the SINGA programme.
